Project Case: High-Reliability UPS Power Security Solution for National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Vietnam
The end-user of this project is the leading national specialized hospital in Vietnam—National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology (BỆNH VIỆN PHỤ SẢN TRUNG ƯƠNG), located at 43 Tràng Thi, Phường Cửa Nam, Thành phố Hà Nội, Việt Nam.
Serving as the main contractor for infrastructure, the Vietnamese automation and technology service company Hoang Phong Automatic Industrial Technology Trading Service Co., Ltd managed the procurement, integration, and deployment of the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system. Our engineering team worked closely with the contractor across all phases—from solution design to equipment delivery and site installation support:
- January (Requirement Analysis & Solution Design): Established initial communication to evaluate the hospital's electrical load, required runtime, and distribution environment, finalizing a tailored design.
- February (Contract Execution): Finalized the equipment bill of materials and commercial terms, establishing a formal partnership.
- April (Factory Dispatch & Logistics): Completed rigorous Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and dispatched the UPS unit and batteries.
- May (On-Site Installation Guidance & Joint Commissioning): Assisted the contractor at the Hanoi site with wiring, battery assembly, and system commissioning.
Critical hospital areas—including operating theaters, ICUs, high-precision medical imaging equipment, and central data rooms—demand seamless, zero-interruption power quality:
- Zero-Interruption Power Supply: Life-critical medical devices require pure, disturbance-free sine wave power with a power factor of 1.0 to withstand grid fluctuations.
- High Safety & Environmental Standards: Storage batteries require superior sealing and flame-retardant properties within a compact footprint.
- System Integration & Compatibility: The client sourced the battery cabinet locally; seamless integration between our UPS host, battery string, and cables with the local cabinet was essential.
To address these requirements, we provided a complete UPS solution comprising a high-performance three-phase UPS unit, long-life VRLA batteries, and dedicated interconnect cables:
| Item / System Component | Model & Technical Specifications | Qty & Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| UPS Main Unit | RIELLO Riello Sentryum S3T 30kVA/30kW ACT
|
1 Unit |
| Backup Battery Bank | NPP Brand NPG Series VRLA Battery
|
40 Units (Forming 480VDC Nominal String) |
| Battery Interconnect Cables | High-spec flame-retardant copper flexible cables & terminals for high current discharge | 1 Set (Inter-block & Cabinet Wiring) |
| Battery Cabinet | Locally sourced by the customer | 1 Set (Local System Integration) |
During the May installation phase, our technical specialists guided the local contractor through key installation procedures in Hanoi:
- Battery String Assembly & Wiring: Directed the series connection of 40 units of 12V40AH batteries inside the client's cabinet, carefully verifying DC polarity and voltage balance to achieve a nominal 480VDC bus.
- Three-Phase Distribution & Grounding Check: Verified 380V (Three-Phase + N) input/output connections and earth resistance to comply with Riello Sentryum S3T standards.
- Mains Failure & Discharge Testing: Simulated complete AC mains outages to confirm 0ms transfer time and validated discharge performance under full and partial load conditions.
- On-Time Delivery & Smooth Rollout: The project strictly met every milestone from January design through May commissioning, aligning perfectly with the hospital's operational timeline.
- Reliable Operation for Critical Healthcare: The system has run stably since deployment, protecting critical medical operations at the hospital's central Hanoi campus.
- Strong Technical Trust: Hoang Phong Automatic Co., Ltd praised our prompt service, product reliability, and professional technical guidance, laying a solid foundation for ongoing regional cooperation.
